Thot compile problems (Sparc Solaris)

I have encountered 2 significant problems while trying to build Thot on a
Sparc station running Solaris -- I suspect however (given their nature)
that they are platform-independent.

1) In the batch/ directory: the source code writetyp.c and typ.c appear
to be missing which prevents typ from building -- I've not yet found in
what way this damages the resulting thot system.

2) In the amaya/ directory: the Makefile includes a number of invokations
of make rather than $(MAKE) which causes the build to fail if GNU make is
not the default make on a system.
